As I started getting older, I struggled a lot with my image. Not physically, but internally. Where I wanted to be by a certain age. Who I wanted to be. What I wanted to be doing long term, etc. You get me.
I didn't really know where to begin. I wanted to do so much so quickly. My head quickly began to spin out of control and I stressed myself out. Where do you even begin when it comes to making big life changes? What do you have to do to get from where you are currently, to where you want to be?
The answer? Your mindset.
You don't really think about your mindset because you were told oh, let me just change some habits and make different decisions for myself and then i'll start to see progress. Where this is true to an extent, where do you think this thought process stems from? Your mindset. It always runs deeper than you think.
In this post, I've provided a list of tips for you to follow if you're stuck on how you should be making these changes. These have helped me throughout my journey of self awareness and I hope they help you too :)
1. Make Lists.
Turn these into life lists. Make one for each priority. Do your daily lists, small goals lists, large goals list. All the lists! This will help you organize your thought process so your vision and purpose becomes more clearer to you.
2. Develop a Consistent Daily Routine.
I know some days are going to be tougher than others because let's face it, we're all human and have off days. Work on getting up earlier (if your schedule allows it) eat a good breakfast, drink a lot of water. Take your daily vitamins. Fall into a routine that allows you to generate more energy to be able to flow throughout your day.
3. Practice Self Care.
Self care starts with your body. What you put on it and what you put into it. Create a skin care routine that works best for you. Drink a lot of water. (I've mentioned this in the past because its so crucial fyi) Be mindful of what you are putting into your body and how much of it you are consuming. If you need more assistance on this matter, speak to a local nutritionist or a health coach in your area.
4. Acquire Positive Mindset Habits.
There's so many resources on the internet that will help you obtain good habits while you are working on shifting your mindset to a positive one. You have to discover ones that work best for you. These are going to be the key factors that play a large role in your shift. It's the smallest actions that create the most impact, trust me on this.
5. Ask for Help.
This is important. When people make big life changes they tend to feel lost. Kinda how I was feeling at the beginning of my journey to self awareness. I asked for help. Don't be afraid to speak up to get assistance where you need it. This is me, providing help to you through this post. And you didn't even realize it.
6. Listen to Motivational Podcasts.
You can literally take this with you anywhere. Subscribe to some podcasts of motivational speakers that will make you feel like the bad ass bitch you were meant to be. Check out some of my favorite podcasts that I like to listen to here:
7. Read Books That Will Benefit You.
What I mean by the term "self help" is reads that provide you with helpful information you can use in your own life. Self help books are my favorite read. The knowledge you can retain from it is unlimited. Even referencing back to it is always helpful. Keep a notebook nearby. You never know when you'll need it.
8. Manage Your Finances Properly.
Do a monthly check in of your money to see where you stand. Ask yourself these couple of questions: Am I where I want to be with savings? What do I need to do to be in good standing for next month? Budget where you need to. Save when you can. Look at ways to make additional income. Anything that is going to benefit you, take action on.
9. Surround Yourself With the Right People.
This is probably one of the most important things you could do for yourself. You can't and I repeat, CANNOT grow a healthy mindset being surrounded by people who don't flow on the same level as you. It's hard and it's not fair to you. When you surround yourself with people who DO vibe the same way, not only does it benefit them, but it boosts you up as well. You feed off one another and there's no better feeling than the surrounding environment of good vibes and positivity.
10. Set Achievable Goals.
When you've got the tools and the resources you need for your mindset shift, now you can start to set some goals. Set some daily goals before you work on your larger ones. You have to create a base of action before you can go all in. It takes time and thats okay. It's not impossible once you start at a level you feel comfortable with. Take each goal day by day to see how you feel before moving onto the next.
Remember, YOU are the only one in control of your life. If you want change, YOU need to shift your mindset and your daily living. Follow these steps and have patience. If there's a will, there's a way. There's nothing that's out of your reach as long as YOU know this. I can't wait to hear about everyone's journey!
