Hands down summer is probably on my top two favorite times of year.
Living in New Jersey there's so much to do with always being an hour from the beach and an hour and some change from NYC. It's like our society comes to life when we have access to these resources and are able to leave our homes and do way more!
Some of us just want to have fun without feeling like they have to spend a zillion dollars for that to happen. I also know (and I know most people can relate) that you both can never decide on what to do. Sound a little familiar right? That's okay, grab a note pad and a pen and save these ideas for your next date!
1. Set up a tent in the park and way the sunset. You can even do this during Fourth of July and watch your local fireworks.
2. Watch the sunrise together.
3. Go to a local carnival event together.
4. Pick up your favorite ice cream choices and a few toppings and create sundaes after dinner.
5. Set up a blanket and pillow fort in your living room and take turns watching your favorite movies. These are really good for those rainy afternoons!
6. Play a board game together.
7. Have a barbecue date together. Make a few of your favorite food choices and sit outside with some good music! What's a barbecue without tunes?
8. Visit a winery when they're having a food truck festival. Even go for wine tastings! Food trucks are awesome for you guys to just walk around and enjoy the atmosphere with some yummy food and a a good glass of wine.
9. Attend happy hour for a dinner date. There's always specials during that time on appetizers as well!
10. Beach day! these are probably my favorite. They're so relaxing. pack some lunches and snacks from your home because during peak season, it's always more pricey!
11. Have a gym date and work out. Go to a class together if you could and try a new work out!
12. Breakfast date! Spend time at a local coffee shop and sit outside. Order your favorite breakfast and beverage and engage in conversation about your future.
Next time you and your significant other are looking for something to do, give these a try. If you enjoy the outdoors, you'll definitely enjoy a vast majority of these! I would love to hear if you both have any special summer traditions you guys share for the warmer months!
