6 Ways to Boost Your Mood

Do you ever just find yourself "in a mood" that you just can't shake? I know I have.

Let me tell you it sucks. I'm not going to sugar coat it.

It's that one day that tends to creep up on us and there is nothing we can do to get rid of that awful mood.

I usually try to do little activities that make me happy. For myself, being in a positive headspace assists you in the willingness to want to do so much more. Therefore, completing more daily tasks. It's so important to me to be in the best mood because i find things tend to flow easier and more gets done this way. I do know everyone is different though, but these are what I found were most effective in a shift of energy.

Writing in a journal.

I love to write. Hence one of the main top reasons I created this blog. Writing is freedom to express yourself however you want because you're the author of your story. In your journal, freely write all your thoughts in your head. Good or Bad. From my experience, it's easier to see how you're feeling when you're visualizing your thoughts on paper. You can start to organize these thoughts in lists and write them in the relevance of importance to you.

Create a Vision Board.

These are so much fun to do! I've recently created one for my own life because I needed a reminder of my big scary goals.

This is what it looks like!

Pretty cool, right? I made this off of Canva and set it as my Mac's background as a constant reminder of why I'm doing what I'm doing to get to where I want to be! Canva is the best place to make these boards and they give you so many options to create it any which way you want. The concept of these boards are to visualize your highest and happiest self with things you want to achieve. You can go directly to Canva here to get started: www.canva.com

Print Out and Post Positive Affirmations Around You

If you didn't know the term affirmation, one of the meanings are:

Emotional support or encourage.

That's why I bring this up. Google words of affirmation or Pinterest is a great place to find these as well. Words of encouragement, words of wisdom. Words that you feel lift you up the most. There's so many out there it's easy to get overwhelmed in finding what you relate to the most!

Trust me when I say this activity works. Going back to visualization for a second, I can tell you right now the more you see something, the more you're gonna act on it. Especially when it comes to words of encouragement. The motivation to achieve it all.

Do a Form of Cardio.

My number one way to boost my mood is going to the gym hands down. Because when you're at the gym, you're burning endorphins and you're literally burning your bad mood away. Might sound weird to some, might make sense! Just know, it works. If you're getting in a good sweat in to take care of your body, you're going to feel like a million bucks after. Easiest way to shift your mood. Can't find the motivation? Go back to my previous suggestion and make those words into actions. Girl, you got this.

Listen to Your Favorite music that gets you "hype"

Music has always been considered therapy to me. it's probably the easiest and the best pick me up, hands down. Just pop in your headphones, turn on some tunes, and close your eyes and let the music flow. Not much to say there. Music is pretty self explanatory. It will always remain the best of mood boosters.

Meditate.

As someone who suffers from mild anxiety, I am constantly taking different forms of meditation into consideration. What's great about this is that you can work on your mood from the inside out with this practice. It takes a lot of complete focus to go deep into a full on trance but what I love most is even if you practice your breathing and listen to that corny mediation music, you eventually do become fully relaxed. If you don't like to medicate, this is a great little practice to consider if you didn't have the best day and just want to rest.

All in all, there are so many different ways to put you in a better headspace. With lives and schedules constantly changing you find yourself doing so many different things to boost yourself. It's little things like this that really make a difference in our lives for the better of us. I would love to hear everyone's favorite activity that never fails to turn their mood around!
