It's truly surreal to even say that out loud. This whole year is flying by WAY too fast.
Like any other year, we go through our ups and downs and achieve highs and lows as we live and learn. As for this, I'm going to help you to perform at your highest self to really go out of this year with a bang. There's still time and we're going to make sure that time is worth our while.
Acquire Time Management Skills.
I mean really put these bad boys to work. This should be the number one thing that you do. Create a schedule down to the times you plan on spending on these activities. It might sound far fetched, but timing yourself gives you more control on when something you are doing is expected to be done. Limit the amount of distractions as well so more of these get accomplished.
Make A List of Organized Events.
I recommend Trello. It's a great website to organize everything. You can Create different boards with different points of focus and fill it up whichever way works best for you! You can do this if you're overwhelmed with school or a work project, whatever you need! I use it for blog planning because I'm insanely busy so I'm able to set deadlines and create my outlines far in advance and have little reminders where I need for myself, etc. My goal is to branch out and incorporate it into my daily life. Stay tuned in on this update folks.
The amount of times I hear someone mention they don't have the time to read is astounding! I barely have time MOST of the time to read but do I do it? Absolutely. The time I see most people mindlessly scrolling through social media is time wasted they could be gathering knowledge somewhere in a book. I keep a list of books on my phone as motivation to wanting to complete them and one of my New Years Resolutions was to read more. Have I fallen off? If I'm being honest, not too much. I have read about 3 new books so far this year, onto my fourth. It's addicting and I hope you guys feel this feeling on day soon. My challenge for you now is to read a new book that is out of your norm of your choice of genre. You never know until you give it a try!
Try Doing Something New.
When was the last time you tried a new activity? A craft? A gym class? Did you bake something new recently? If You're staring blank at your screen coming to the realization that you honestly haven't done anything new recently then listen up! This section is for you.
Create a small list (we're utilizing everything now people!) of a few activities you plan to do each of the remaining months. It's August, so let's start in September. You should have 4 things on this list. Post it somewhere you constantly walk by as a constant reminder that these should be done by the end of the year! They don't have to be challenging either. They could just be something you've been wanting to do but you've been putting off because of some silly excuse. Now's the time to get it done. You got this girlfriend!
Set More Goals.
Similar to a New Years Resolution, but a little more emphasized on. Let's face it, most people fall off of theirs. So let's make some goals instead. Hold yourself accountable to the activities you do, and the decisions you make. Think about them long term. Now let's set these goals!
Start by prioritizing what is most important to you and what will benefit you in the long run. I'm all for living in the now, but the decisions I have made lately are for long term causes. That's just a personal preference because I know everyone is different. If you don't want to think long term, set a goal for now! Something you want to achieve in the next few weeks or so. Something you feel like you need to get done or just to give you peace of mind. Do that! But set more goals. Give your life meaning. Make it all worth it in the end.
See Where You Stand Financially.
I hate talking finances but let's be real, they play a huge part. You know that silly saying money can't buy happiness? Yeah, just laugh with me real quick.
Do a half year check in. How's your savings? Do you have one? Are you putting away enough? Are you where would like to be? If you're married or share a bank account with your husband/wife, are you guys able to do what you would like to do in the upcoming remaining months of 2019? How does it look? I avoid finances as much as the next person because I don't need that negativity in my life but once I make myself aware of what's going on, it's easier to plan out how everything will continue to flow.
Not a lot of people think too far into making a change half way through the year because they feel like if they haven't done it now then they're never going to get it done. I'm here to tell you it's always possible to make something right. There is literally never a wrong time to make a good decision in your life. What's stopping you?
